American Education Week Celebrated in Milbank

 

 

 

 

 

The Milbank Education Association and Milbank’s Educators Rising group have joined to recognize American Education Week, Monday to Friday, November 17 to 21.
 
The week was kicked off Monday, November 17, with a Proud to be Public”theme. Students were encouraged to wear Educators Rising blue or an Educators Rising shirt.
 
Family Day was celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, with students dressing to represent their family’s favorite team, activity, or tradition. Students and families were challenged with a family engagement activity. Grades were divided into groups with different family activities. Families were asked to take and send in photos of the activity with a brief description.
 
Education Support Professionals Day is Wednesday, November 19, with a theme of Hats Off to Our Support Staff. Students are able to wear their favorite hat for $2 with funds supporting Educators Rising.
 
Career Day is Thursday, November 20, as students dream big to dress for their dream job.
 
Friday, November 21, will be Substitute Educators Day. Students are asked to wear school colors to show their public school pride.
 
American Education Week is celebrated each November to recognize and honor the people who make public education possible. From teachers and students, to families, custodians, bus drivers, substitutes and more, all playing an important role in helping every child learn and grow.
