5:00 p.m.
The Big Stone City council met in special session on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Meeting began at 5:00 p.m. with Mayor Athey presiding. Roll Call: Roscoe, Rabe, Redfield, Brown, Stoddard, Longhenry. Others present Maria Loughlin, Kevin Owen and Earl Lundin.
Hiring of a new Summer Rec Director was discussed along with the salary. A motion was made by Longhenry and seconded Roscoe to pay Summer Rec. Director $1,500 for the summer along with $500 for miscellaneous expenses. All in favor. Motion Carried. 
Mayor Athey addressed the council that something is needed to be done with the police vehicles. Sheriff Kevin Owen presented to the council his need for a new vehicle and his interest. After a brief discussion, a motion to give the police vehicle to Sheriff Owen was made by Stoddard and seconded by Longhenry. All in favor. Motion carried. 
Earl Lundin would like to continue doing Jamborees on a few Sundays. He asked the council if he could continue as well as looking for help setting up prior to and setting down afterwards. Geven Rabe offered Lundin his assistance. A motion was made by Brown and seconded by Longhenry for the Jamborees to continue and for Lundin to reach out for help. All in favor. Motion carried. 
Being no further business a motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Brown and seconded by Longhenry. All in favor, motion carried.
