A hearing will be held by the Roberts County Planning and Zoning Commission in the Commissioners’ Room at the Roberts County Courthouse at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026.
To consider a request for a VARIANCE from the Zoning Ordinance.
The request is made by Sara Osterloh.
For the purpose of: Ms. Osterloh wishes to demolish one of the two existing cabins on her property (parcel# 4241) and rebuild a new cabin on the same site. Residential structures in the Lake Front Residential District are limited to one per parcel. Ms. Osterloh asserts that, since the parcel already has two existing cabins, permitting her to demolish and rebuild one of the cabins will not amount to a meaningful change in the use of the property. Additionally, the proposed structure would not meet the 50ft lake setback or 30ft road setback minimums. Ms. Osterloh is seeking a reduced lake setback of 40ft and a reduced road setback of 26ft. The proposed structure’s size and placement is otherwise compliant with the Zoning Ordinance.
