THE MILBANK HIGH SCHOOL CLASS of 1954 gathered for a 65th class reunion Tuesday, September 10, at the Lantern Inn in Milbank. The 14 classmates attending were, back row, left to right, Max Gonzenbach, Eugene Patnoe, Jim Boekelheide and Jack Stengel.
The Legion Act, signed into law July 30, 2019, expands eligibility in The American Legion to include veterans who served in U.S. military conflicts previously unrecognized by Congress as war eras.
A 30x40-foot addition to the Milbank Orphan Grain Train warehouse is currently under construction. The new space will be used for the Mercy Meals program which packs nutritional food packages with rice as the main ingredient.
The final food giveaway of the year by the Grant County Christian Service Council will be Wednesday, October 9, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. or until the food is gone at the Grant County 4-H exhibit building in Milbank.
As a result of recent changes to a state grant program, Grant County officials have had to scramble to revise the five-year bridge plan before finalizing the 2020 budget.
Organizers of the annual fundraising campaign for Grant County Combined Appeal (GCCA) have set the goal for this year’s campaign at $185,000. That’s up from last year’s target of $182,900.
