The Milbank Area boys cross country team edged past Webster Area to repeat as Northeast Conference Champions at Webster Wednesday, October 9. Bulldog Nick Batchelor won the individual title.

The Milbank Area Lady Bulldog volleyball team suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Deubrook Tuesday, October 8, at Milbank. Set scores were 23-25, 16-25, 25-10 and 18-25.
The Milbank Area football team suffered a 30-0 loss at the hands of Dell Rapids Friday, October 11, in Dell Rapids. The Bulldogs faced a 14-0 deficit after the opening quarter and trailed 22-0 at the half time break.
Milbank Area junior Jake Trevett tied for 26th place at the state Class A golf tournament Monday and Tuesday, October 7-8, in Vermillion. He shot an 89 on day one and an 87 on day two for a 176 score. Going into the tournament Trevett’s season low was an 89.
A record-breaking performance by the Milbank Area girls tennis players powered the team to a fifth place finish at the first-ever state Class A high school girls tennis tournament October 7-8 in Sioux Falls.
The Dakota Hills Grizzlies football team earned a 28-14 victory over Clark/Willow Lake and the Waverly-South Shore Coyotes football squad was routed 42-8 by Florence-Henry Monday, October 8, in area football action.
Madison Zirbel took first place and paced her Dakota Hills girls cross country team to first place in the standings at the Eastern Coteau Conference meet in Clear Lake Monday, October 7. She finished with a time of 19:39.49.
The Bulldog boys cross country team placed fifth at the Lennox Invitational and was paced by Nick Batchelor who won the individual title. It was Batchelor’s sixth win of the season. The Lady Bulldogs placed sixth at the meet which was Thursday, October 3, at Lennox.
