A 30x40-foot addition to the Milbank Orphan Grain Train warehouse is currently under construction. The new space will be used for the Mercy Meals program which packs nutritional food packages with rice as the main ingredient.
The final food giveaway of the year by the Grant County Christian Service Council will be Wednesday, October 9, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. or until the food is gone at the Grant County 4-H exhibit building in Milbank.
The Grant County Christian Service Council distributed four and one-half tons of free food to 219 families on Wednesday, August 21, in Milbank. Both figures were records for the event.
