The Milbank Area football team rallied from a 12-0 half-time deficit, but the squad ultimately suffered a 33-20 defeat at the hands of Huron Friday, September 6, in Huron. Milbank Area falls to 1-2 overall.
The Milbank Area Bulldog boys golf team finished in seventh place as the team hosted the Poet Invitational on Thursday, August 22, at the Whetstone Creek Golf Course.
The Milbank Area girls tennis team was victorious in their first home match of the season, besting Huron on Tuesday, August 20. The Lady Bulldogs also competed at the two-day Madison tournament on Friday and Saturday, August 23-24.

It was an offensive show with eight touchdowns (TD) scored when Milbank Area hosted Sisseton in football action Friday, August 23, but the Bulldogs were on the short end of the 34-20 score. It was the first game of the season for both teams.
The Milbank Area Lady Bulldogs volleyball team has started practicing and is set to begin its season against Aberdeen Roncalli on Thursday, August 29, at home.
Returning most of the runners who helped the team with a great season last year, the Milbank Area Bulldog boys and girls cross country teams expect to be in the hunt to repeat as Northeast Conference and region champions.
The Lady Bulldogs tennis team is 2-2 after competing in two triangulars to open the season. They competed in Harrisburg on Saturday, August 17, and were in Brookings on Thursday, August 15.

Fall is just around the corner and this year’s Milbank Area squad is preparing for another Bulldog football season under the tutelage of second-year head coach Adolph Shepardson.
The Milbank Area Bulldog boys golf team opened its season in Volga at the Sioux Valley Invite Monday, August 19. The Bulldogs traveled to Madison to compete in the Madison Invite Tuesday, August 20. Results were not available at time of press.
Led by new head coach Abbey Trapp, the Milbank Area girls tennis team will open its season at a triangular meet against Brookings and Yankton on Thursday, August 15, in Brookings.
