Area girls volleyball teams were in action this week with the results as follows:
Wilmot 0, Tri-State 3
The Wilmot Wolves’ volleyball team was swept 3-0 by Tri-State, ND, Monday, October 21, in Wilmot. Set scores were 25-11, 25-20 and 25-18.
The Dakota Hills girls cross country team captured the Region 1B title Wednesday, October 16, at Webster. Victoria Zirbel captured the individual title with a time of 20:31.56 to pace the Grizzlies. The team tally was 15 points. The state meet will be Saturday, October 26, at Huron.
The regular season came to a close for the Dakota Hills and Waverly-South Shore football teams, but the Dakota Hills Grizzlies have earned a berth in post-season play. They will face Hamlin at Hayti on Thursday, October 24.

Madison Zirbel took first place and paced her Dakota Hills girls cross country team to first place in the standings at the Eastern Coteau Conference meet in Clear Lake Monday, October 7. She finished with a time of 19:39.49.
The Dakota Hills Grizzlies football team dropped a 40-20 decision to Britton-Hecla and the Waverly-South Shore Coyotes football squad fell to Clark/Willow Lake 44-6 Friday, October 4, in area football action.
